a few new features rolled out today. some you’d think would’ve rolled right out of the box….but they didn’t. so shut it and read on:

- deletion (insert laughter here)
- exposed stats in post/edit view
- added http_referer to DB to capture a friendlier origination URL
- added a few text truncation fixes to make things a little prettier
- changed size of link titles so they weren’t so ginormous
- better randomization of short URLs (this may have impacted older URLs, but me thinks me fixed that problem too)
- sent the Tweetboard thing to the deadpool (sorry Tweetboard)

no link box yet. “real” job prohibiting continued work. that’s ok, though. some new and improved improvements are coming along well and hopefully they’ll be kick-ass enough to forgive the tardiness.

yes yes yes. the link box. the mother of all features in a url shortener. public link box is going live today…..probably later this afternoon. all links will still be anonymous, meaning you won’t yet be able to “claim” your links. don’t worry – that’ll change soon enough.

it’s a watershed moment. knil is now officially part of the interwebs. at 10:46 AM CST this morning, knil posted it’s first public link: http://knil.ly/5XFai.

within 2 minutes the system had been bombarded by 20+ spiders, scrapers, and web browsers. delicious.

started a wiki for knil API code and documentation. nothing is up yet, but that’s the place to go from now on. we’ll post updates as code gets added.

yes, this is the token first post. and yes, it’s hosted on WP.com with one of the many glorious WP.com themes. too busy pounding code to spend time doing anything more elaborate. then again, why would you want to?
